Washington’s 10 Best Public Golf Courses

Had we instructed our voters to make “value” the most important factor in their rankings, it’s quite likely that Gold Mountain’s Olympic Course would have finished No. 1.

The Olympic course asks just $65 on a sunny summer weekend — lower than every other course in our top-six — and its 10-round punch card for just $270 might be the best value in America, let alone Washington.

Rate, though, is just half of the value equation. The other half is quality, which the Olympic doles out in abundance. In the moment after the ball flies off the face of your driver towards the green at the beautiful, downhill par-4 18th (we’re not letting you lay up), you’ll feel, just for an instant, that anything is possible. That’s a magic few courses can create.
