TRUE Linkswear Golf Shoes
From flannel shirts to Birkenstocks with socks, we Northwesterners aren’t particularly well known for our fashion-forward sensibilities … except when it comes to golf shoes. Seattle’s Fred Couples helped launch the stylish shoe craze when he debuted the Ecco Street Premiers at the 2010 Masters and UW grad James Lepp’s high-tops and Vans-style Kikkor shoes have injected the word “awesome” into the golf shoe vernacular.
It’s Puyallup’s Ryan Moore, though, who has truly “broken the mold” on footwear as the face of TRUE Linkswear and its lighter-than-air footwear. TRUE Linkswear put new twist on golf shoes in 2010, with lightweight, thinner-soled shoes designed to increase contact with the ground — creating more stability for the golfer and leading to the feeling of playing practically barefoot. They also happen to be incredibly comfortable, making them both good for your game, and for your feet.
TRUE’s newest addition to its Tour line in 2012 are the “phx” and “isis” models. Named for its new Arizona headquarters, the phx is a water-resistant hybrid shoe that can look as good in the clubhouse bar as they do on the course.
The isis, meanwhile, is specifically designed to the contours of a woman’s foot, with the same water-resistant uppers, ergo-traction sole and stylish designs as its male counterpart.
