Cup Details

The 2019 Cascade Golfer Cup will be comprised of seven golf tournaments at seven of the best venues the Northwest has to offer. Each event will be open to the first 64 teams (two-person), competing in both Net and Gross competitions in a variety of formats. All prices are per team. Start times indicate shotgun start.

Your Registration Fee Includes:

All events include Range Balls, Cart*, Green Fees, Tournament Fee and a post-event meal at the Post-Tournament Awards Party. Beverages may be complimentary at selected events.

*Carts are not allowed at the Season Opener at Chambers Bay on Apr. 20, as it is a walking course only. Pull carts are allowed, and caddies can be booked directly through the course.

Puetz Golf Club Members receive a $10 Gift Card per event. These will be handed out at each event to only those golfers that go through Puetz for their GHIN number or handicap.

NEW IN 2019 – Membership

To participate in the Cascade Golfer Cup, all players must be a Cascade Golfer Cup member. This is an annual membership required before registering for your first event. Your $35 membership will give you full access to the tournament series, plus the following benefits:

• 2019 Northwest Golfers Playbook ($40 value)
• $10 Puetz Golf gift card
• $25 greens fee credit to online booking site TeeOff by PGA TOUR ($25 value)
• One-year subscription to Cascade Golfer magazine
• Ticket to the Seattle Golf Show ($14 value)
• Cascade Golfer Cup Bag Tag
• More goodies TBA

Membership for two teammates will be charged when you register for your first event. If alternates are added for subsequent events, you will be able to pay their membership fee at that time. Your membership package will be available for you to pick up at your first event of 2019.

Over $100,000 in prizes will be awarded, including over 150 team prizes and 50 individual prizes! In addition to the overall grand prize (15 twosomes to top NW courses in 2020), each event has its own grand prize that will be awarded at the conclusion of that event.

Event grand prizes are listed on each individual event’s page.

Other prizes include:

Each event prizes out the top-15 net and top-10 gross teams. In the event of a tie, the team with the lowest gross team score on the No. 1 handicap hole will earn the higher place (if still tied, tiebreaker will advance to No. 2 handicap hole, No. 3, etc., until tie is broken) to determine prizes for the top-15 net and top-10 gross. (Example: two teams shoot net 65 and tie for 15th net, one team will get 15th and a prize, while the other team will get 16th and not receive a prize.) This tiebreaker is also used to determine points for the top-25 net. If a team finishes “in the money” in both net and gross, they will be able to choose either the net or gross prize (but not both). Because of this, it is possible that all 25 prizes may not be awarded at each event. Prizes not awarded are then recycled into future CG Cup events.

In addition to these prizes, each event offers four Closest-to-the-Pin contests on the par threes, plus a Long Drive (Men & Women) and a Straightest Drive Contest. Players can enter these hole contests for $15 per player.

Prizes will be added throughout the season and are subject to change.

  • Tees

Each event is open to men and women. In most events, men will play from the blues (or equivalent) and women will play from the forward tees.

Each team may have up to eight players compete throughout the seven events. However, only three players are eligible to earn points on one team. Also, players may only earn points on one team.

All Cascade Golfer Cup events are scored in both net and gross formats. All players must have a registered handicap to compete in the net. Some formats will use a player’s full handicap, while other will use a percentage of their handicap. The Cascade Golfer Cup uses your lowest handicap index in the last 12 months. For men, the maximum allowed handicap will be 36; for women, the maximum will be 40. We are committed to ensuring that all golfers are playing to an accurate handicap. The tournament monitors “career” rounds and strives to protect the field from players having “career” rounds multiple times in CG Cup events. As such, the tournament reserves the right to adjust any player’s handicap prior to play if they feel said player’s handicap is not accurate, or reflective of their level of play in CG Cup events. If the tournament feels any player has manipulated their handicap index in any form, or otherwise has been dishonest about their handicap, they will be instantly disqualified and no refund will be offered.

    Points and Scoring

Each event will have a separate prize pool (top-15 net teams, top-10 gross teams). In addition to those prizes, competing teams will also earn points toward the season-ending Cascade Golfer Cup points championship. Heading in to the final event (at White Horse), each team’s top-four points results from the first six events will be totaled to determine the overall points standings. Points earned in the final event (at White Horse) will then be added to that total to determine the 2018 Cascade Golfer Cup Championship and the winner of the 2020 Summer Golf Package, consisting of 15 unique twosomes to Northwest courses in 2020 (including all 2019 Cascade Golfer Cup host courses).

Each event will also offer seven hole contests that players can buy into on-site. (Typically Closest-to-the-Pin on four par-3s, Straightest Drive, and Men’s and Women’s Long Drive).

Points are earned in each event just for turning in your scorecard. Points are awarded as follows:

Additional points can be earned by finishing in the top-25 of the event. These points are awarded as follows:

Both Event 4 (Home Course) and Event 7 (White Horse) are considered Major Championships, and points earned for finishing in the top-25 of these events are multiplied by 1.5. Your lowest two point totals from the first six events will be discarded. Only your top-four point totals from the first six events, plus your total in the final event (if played), will be used to calculate your final overall score.
